The initial scope is to integrate Catapult Sports, VALD, and Teamworks. The platform must support both API-based data ingestion and manual or automated uploads of Excel/CSV files. API connections should retrieve approved data on a scheduled basis, while spreadsheet imports should validate, map, and standardise fields before storage.
Create a central database with a consistent athlete profile and identifiers, enabling data to be matched across systems. Athlete matching should prioritise unique IDs and verified email addresses, with an administrator review process for unmatched or duplicate records. Accurate matching is essential because connected sports systems commonly use email-based athlete mappings.
Develop an intuitive web dashboard for coaches, practitioners, and administrators. It should include:
Athlete-level profiles combining GPS/load, testing, wellness, and performance data.
Team and squad views.
Filters for athlete, group, date range, sport, data source, and test type.
Trend charts, summary KPIs, recent test results, and exportable reports.
Role-based permissions so users only access authorised athletes and teams.
A clear indication of each metric’s source and most recent data refresh.
The architecture should be modular and scalable, allowing additional providers, mobile apps, and spreadsheet formats to be added later without rebuilding the system. Securely store API credentials and maintain audit logs, error alerts, and ingestion-status monitoring.
