Dashboard Travel Budget Planner

I’m building “PlanMyTrip”, a web-based travel budget planner that automatically creates a full itinerary around whatever a traveller can realistically spend. The site must have a dashboard-style layout where every core function is visible at a glance.

Core functions to wire in:
• Expense tracker that updates in real time.
• Itinerary generator that adjusts activities, transport and lodging to stay within budget.
• Destination recommendations that adapt as the remaining balance changes.

Budget entry should feel effortless, so I want the system to connect directly to a user’s financial accounts through a secure API (Plaid, Stripe Financial Connections or similar). After authorisation, the app fetches available balance, categorises recent travel-related spend and feeds that data straight into the itinerary engine.

High-level flow I have in mind:
1. User links account → Balance appears on the dashboard.
2. User sets trip dates and preferred travel style.
3. Algorithm allocates daily spend, recommends destinations, then drafts a day-by-day plan.
4. User can manually tweak any line item; the dashboard re-balances everything instantly.

Deliverables I expect:
1. Responsive front end (React, Vue or similar) styled cleanly for desktop and mobile.
2. Back-end with secure account-linking, itinerary logic and data persistence (Node, Django, or a framework you’re comfortable with).
3. Clear documentation plus a short hand-off call so I can run the project locally and deploy.
