Daily Sales Tracking Spreadsheet

I need a simple yet reliable Excel spreadsheet that lets me record every sale I make each day. The sheet only has to cover sales—no expenses or transfers right now—so the layout can stay focused and uncluttered.

For each transaction I want a clean input line where I enter just two things: the date of sale and the product category. The category field should be set up so I can pick from a dropdown list of product types (I’ll supply the initial list); having it locked this way will protect the data from typos and help keep reports consistent.

Because everything hinges on that categorization, I’d like a quick-look summary area—pivot table, dynamic array, or whatever method you find best—that shows daily totals broken down by product type. If you can add a small chart that refreshes automatically, even better.
