Each day I receive a batch of scanned PDFs that contain typed text. I need every file converted into an editable Word document (.docx) the same day it is sent.
Scope
• Keep only the plain text, arranged in simple paragraphs. Ignore the original layout, headings, lists, images, or page breaks.
• The source files are scans with typed text, so solid OCR skills in tools such as ABBYY FineReader, Adobe Acrobat, or equivalent will be important.
• Whenever a word is smudged or partially unreadable, make the best reasonable guess so the paragraph flows naturally; do not leave blanks or special marks.
Turnaround & Naming
Return each converted file within 24 hours, using the identical base filename as the PDF.
Acceptance Criteria
• All text from the PDF is present in the Word document.
• No extra formatting beyond basic paragraphs.
• Spelling and punctuation match the original or are logically corrected when a guess is required.
