I keep my books in Excel and need a reliable hand each day to keep everything current. Your primary focus will be twofold: first, enter the previous day’s transactions into the existing spreadsheets; second, reconcile bank and credit-card balances so the running totals always match the statements.

Because I review cash flow every morning, I’ll look for the updated workbook in my shared folder by 9 a.m. EST. Accuracy matters more than speed, but the work rarely exceeds an hour or two per day. Discrepancies should be flagged immediately in a comments column so I can investigate without hunting for them.
