I’m looking for a long-term YouTube video editor for my media brand, Pondering Monkey.
The channel covers fascinating stories in technology, business, AI, internet culture, and the strange world humans are building.
I want the editing to feel fast, modern, highly visual and story-driven, similar in energy to channels like AevyTV, but with our own identity.
Videos will generally be around 6–10 minutes.
The editor should be comfortable with:
Fast-paced cuts and strong retention-focused pacing
Motion graphics and animated text
Screenshots, articles, tweets and website UI appearing dynamically on screen
Stock footage and relevant B-roll
Memes and internet culture references where appropriate
Sound effects and music
Zooms, transitions and visual emphasis
AI-generated backgrounds/assets when useful
Creating visual jokes from the script
Turning explanations into simple graphics/animations rather than just showing B-roll
I will provide the script and voiceover. The editor's job is to turn that into an entertaining visual story.
The style should not feel like a corporate documentary or generic faceless YouTube video. It should feel like a smart friend explaining something fascinating while the visuals constantly reinforce the story.
I’m initially looking to produce one test video, and if the collaboration works well, this can become ongoing work with multiple videos per month.
