I need an experienced hardware engineer—or a small multidisciplinary team—to turn FitBug’s first smart wristband concept into a fully-functioning proof of concept. The focus is on engineering a wristband or smartwatch-style device that can reliably capture steps, movement, sleep, heart-rate, blood-oxygen, skin temperature and other stress-related signals, then stream that data over Bluetooth Low Energy to both iPhone and Android handsets.

Your work will start with system architecture and component selection, move through schematic capture, PCB layout, and sensor integration, and finish with embedded firmware that manages power efficiently while maintaining robust BLE connectivity. I’m interested in components and design practices that simplify a later hand-off to an ODM, but mass-production readiness is not required at this stage.

Deliverables
• Fully tested functional prototype wristband
• Complete schematics, PCB design files, and BOM (Altium, KiCad, or similar)
• Clean, well-documented firmware source and BLE interface documentation
• Battery life and sensor accuracy test reports
• A concise engineering document package suitable for transfer to a manufacturing partner

If you have recent experience with low-power wearable designs, multi-sensor data fusion, or Nordic/Qualcomm BLE chipsets, that will be a big plus. Let me know how you would approach sensor calibration, over-the-air firmware updates, and any clever tricks you use to extend battery life.
