I’m commissioning an original, full-length cosplay outfit for an upcoming book-cover photoshoot. The look is a dark, battle-worn sci-fi warrior—nothing from an existing franchise—so the design must be unique to me and proudly carry the small tag “The Shadows will Fall” for anyone who asks.
Core design notes
• One-piece body suit that runs from just above the feet to the top of my neck, matte black as the base tone.
• Bold white striping: a pair of clean, white stripes plus a single thin line running from each foot up to the armpit to create sleek, vertical “energy channel” accents.
• Detachable dark black cape that drapes to ankle length.
• Golden belt at the hip and two matching golden swords. The swords need to read as authentic on camera, so a realistic weight, edge bevel, and metallic finish are essential while still remaining convention-safe.
• Preferred build: mixed materials. Feel free to combine stretch performance fabric for the suit, lightweight armor plates in EVA/Worbla, and reinforced leather or molded plastic for the weapons.
• Comfort and mobility around the sword accessories is my top priority; the rigging, sheaths, and hand grip must allow me to pose naturally without snagging the suit.
Project flow
1. Concept sketches and material list so I can sign off on the silhouette and detailing.
2. Pattern drafting and small swatch test for black–white color contrast under studio lighting (I can supply RAW images of our lighting setup).
3. Mid-build progress photos or short video walkthrough so adjustments can be requested early.
4. Final fitting confirmation—measurements provided upon hire—followed by secure, tracked shipping of the finished costume and swords.
Timeline
