I’m rebuilding our contract-bid tracking process on Salesforce and need a brand-new custom object that behaves just like our current one. The existing object lets us track each bid/project status and history, then pulls that data into clear, on-demand reports for management. I want those two core abilities cloned accurately, field for field and with the same report logic, but under a fresh object name so we can extend it without touching the legacy setup.

Beyond the mirror build, I also need:
• Seamless integration points to related Salesforce objects (Opportunities, Accounts, custom “Project” records) so users can link a bid from any of those records and see roll-up details.
• Fully customizable fields and page layouts. I should be able to add, remove or reorder fields later without breaking flows, validation rules or reports.

Acceptance criteria
• All picklists, formulas, validation rules and record types from the old object are replicated and tested in a sandbox.
• Bid status updates reflect instantly in existing dashboards and in the new object’s reports.
• Integration links appear as related lists on the connected objects with correct permissions.
• Metadata and deployment documented in a change set so we can promote it to production in one step.

You’re free to use native tools like Custom Metadata, Flow, Process Builder, or Apex where it makes sense; just keep maintenance straightforward for admins who aren’t coders. Once the object is live and documented, the project is complete.
