I’m developing a specialised automotive control system that relies on pneumatics rather than electrics for its primary motion. The part functions as a pick-and-place unit: it must grasp components on the production line, auto-align them with the aid of sensors and actuators, then sort them into the correct bins before the next station.

Here’s what I need from you:

• A complete pneumatic design for the pick-and-place, alignment, and sorting stages, including cylinder sizing, flow calculations, valve selection, and recommended pressure ranges.
• Integration notes for optical or proximity sensors that trigger each motion sequence and allow closed-loop alignment.
• 2D/3D CAD files plus a schematic showing all air paths, fittings, and control logic.
• A concise bill of materials with readily available components.
• Assembly and maintenance guidelines that a shop technician can follow without guesswork.

Acceptance criteria
• Simulated cycle time ≤ 2 s per pick under 6 bar supply.
• Repeatability within ±0.2 mm after 1 000 cycles in a virtual test.
• All parts rated for an automotive plant environment (oil mist, 40 °C max).

I’ll review interim drawings first, then sign off on final files once the calculations, schematics, and BOM all check out. Let me know which CAD and simulation tools you prefer so we can keep the workflow smooth.
