About the project

I am developing a boxing training and education app called AZ Boxing, which will contain a large library of high-quality boxing clips.

I am looking for someone who understands boxing technique and boxing styles and can also edit video.

This is not simply a video-editing job.

You will watch full boxing fights and training videos, identify important technical moments, cut them into short clips, and accurately categorise/tag each clip.

Your responsibilities

For each video, you will:

* Watch the full boxing footage
* Identify useful technical moments
* Cut individual clips, normally around 3–10 seconds
* Remove unnecessary footage
* Keep the clips clean and easy to study
* Give every clip the correct category
* Add technique/sub-category tags
* Identify the boxing style where appropriate
* Add a short explanation of what is happening
* Give the exact timecode from the original video
* Organise the clips so they can be uploaded into the app

Where appropriate, clips should also be tagged:

Do not force a style label if the technique cannot confidently be attributed to a particular style.

Description:
After slipping the jab, the boxer immediately steps off the centre line instead of remaining in front of the opponent.

The finished clip is then exported and named something like:

DEFENCE_Slip_Step-Off-Line_Soviet_001.mp4

Software

You should be comfortable using at least one of:

* DaVinci Resolve
* Adobe Premiere Pro
* Final Cut Pro

You should also be comfortable working with spreadsheets, folders and structured tagging.

Very important

You must understand boxing.

I am looking for someone who can recognise the difference between:

* A normal slip and a slip used to create a counter
* A pivot and simply turning
* A step-back used defensively versus one used to create punching distance
* Good versus poor distance control
* Different types of jab
* Different counterpunching situations
* Footwork used to create angles

You don’t need to be a professional boxer, but you must have a strong understanding of boxing technique.

Paid trial

Before starting a larger project, I will provide one boxing video as a paid test.

You will be asked to:

1. Watch the video
2. Find approximately 20–30 useful technical moments
3. Cut the clips
4. Categorise them
5. Add technique/style tags
6. Add a short explanation for each
7. Provide the original timecode

I will assess the accuracy of your boxing analysis as well as the quality of your editing.

Long-term opportunity

If the trial is successful, this can become an ongoing project.

The goal is to build a substantial searchable boxing video library covering:

Jab → Footwork → Defence → Movement → Offence → Counterpunching → Balance → Angles → Combinations

with different examples from Soviet, Cuban, Uzbek, Kazakhstan, American and other boxing systems.
