I need a complete social media application built for both iOS and Android that lets users create standalone accounts, share photos or short videos every day, and chat instantly with one another.
Core scope
Users sign up with email or phone, set up a profile, and immediately start posting to a scrolling feed. Each post can contain an image or video, a caption, and basic engagement options (like, comment, delete / report). Real-time one-to-one and group messaging must be available inside the same app with push notifications. No external log-ins are required; accounts stay completely independent of Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Live streaming is not part of this phase, but the architecture should leave room to bolt it on later.
Technical notes
A shared codebase—React Native, Flutter, or another proven cross-platform stack—will keep feature parity tight between iOS and Android. I’m happy to work with Firebase, Supabase, AWS Amplify or an equivalent backend that can handle media storage, authentication, and WebSocket-based chat. Clean, well-commented code and clear API endpoints are essential so future contributors can extend the project easily.
Deliverables
• Production-ready iOS (IPA) and Android (AAB) builds
• Source code repository with commit history
• Cloud-hosted backend, database schema, and storage buckets
• Brief technical documentation covering setup, environment variables, and deployment steps
• A short handover call or video walkthrough demonstrating the key flows and admin controls
Acceptance criteria
The app should compile without errors on Xcode and Android Studio, register new users, upload media under 10 s on Wi-Fi, load the feed smoothly, deliver chat messages in under 2 s round-trip, and pass App Store / Play Store review guidelines.
