Cross-Platform Mobile Intelligence SDK

## Project Overview

We are looking for an experienced **Mobile SDK Developer** to design and develop a cross-platform Device Intelligence and Behavioural Analytics SDK for Android and iOS applications.

The SDK will be integrated into banking and financial services mobile applications to collect privacy-conscious device and application signals, understand device and user interaction patterns, and provide structured intelligence to a backend fraud and risk management platform.

This is a specialised SDK development project requiring strong experience in native mobile development, SDK architecture, device APIs, performance optimisation, and secure data handling.

We are open to working with an individual freelancer or a small team with relevant expertise.

## Scope of Work

### 1. Native Android SDK Development
- Develop a reusable Android SDK using Kotlin.
- Capture relevant device, application, and environmental signals.
- Collect device interaction and behavioural telemetry where permitted by platform APIs and user consent.
- Handle application lifecycle events, background execution, and device state changes.
- Implement efficient event collection, batching, local buffering, and secure transmission.
- Integrate appropriate Android device integrity and security signals.

### 2. Native iOS SDK Development
- Develop the equivalent SDK using Swift.
- Collect platform-permitted device, application, and behavioural signals.
- Handle application lifecycle and device state changes.
- Implement efficient event processing, buffering, and secure communication.
- Integrate relevant Apple platform security and attestation capabilities.

### 3. Shared SDK Architecture
- Design a modular and maintainable SDK architecture.
- Evaluate Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) for sharing suitable business logic across Android and iOS.
- Implement common event models, configuration management, data processing, and networking where practical.
- Keep platform-specific functionality isolated in native implementations.

### 4. React Native Integration
- Provide a React Native wrapper with a clean TypeScript API.
- Enable React Native applications to initialise, configure, and interact with the native SDK.
- Implement native module integration compatible with the React Native New Architecture.
- Evaluate JSI/TurboModules where technically justified.
- Provide a simple integration experience for third-party application developers.

### 5. SDK Performance, Security & Reliability
- Minimise CPU, memory, battery, and network consumption.
- Support offline event collection and reliable synchronisation.
- Implement secure storage and communication.
- Avoid exposing sensitive device information unnecessarily.
- Ensure robust error handling and prevent SDK crashes from affecting host applications.
- Follow platform privacy requirements, consent requirements, and applicable app-store policies.

### 6. Documentation & Delivery
- Provide SDK integration documentation and API references.
- Provide sample Android, iOS, and React Native applications.
- Include unit tests and integration tests.
- Provide versioned SDK builds and source code.
- Document architecture, configuration, permissions, and supported platform versions.

## Required Skills & Experience

- Strong Kotlin and Android development experience.
- Strong Swift and iOS development experience, or demonstrable expertise in one platform with the ability to deliver the other.
- Experience developing reusable mobile SDKs or libraries consumed by third-party applications.
- Strong understanding of mobile application lifecycle, native APIs, background execution, and device capabilities.
- Experience with React Native native modules and TypeScript integration.
- Understanding of React Native New Architecture, JSI, and TurboModules.
- Experience with API integration, networking, local storage, and event processing.
- Strong understanding of mobile performance, security, and privacy considerations.

## Good to Have

- Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP/KMM) experience.
- React Native Fabric and TurboModules.
- C++ / JNI experience.
- Device fingerprinting and device intelligence.
- Behavioural analytics and mobile telemetry.
- Fraud detection, banking, fintech, or cybersecurity product experience.
- Experience with Android Play Integrity API and Apple App Attest / DeviceCheck.

## Expected Deliverables

1. Native Android SDK (Kotlin).
2. Native iOS SDK (Swift).
3. Shared KMP module, where appropriate.
4. React Native SDK wrapper with TypeScript definitions.
5. Event collection and processing framework.
6. Secure backend communication layer.
7. Sample integration applications.
8. Technical documentation and test coverage.
9. Complete source code and build instructions.

## Engagement Details

- **Engagement:** Project-based, with potential for ongoing development.
- **Experience:** Mid-level to Senior / Expert.
- **Working arrangement:** Remote.
- **Code ownership:** All project source code and deliverables will belong to the client, subject to the agreed contract.
- **Collaboration:** Work closely with our frontend and backend engineering teams.

**Important:** We are specifically looking for engineers who understand the challenges of building production-grade mobile SDKs consumed by other applications. Building a regular React Native application alone is not sufficient experience for this project.
