# Project: Build a Cricket Team Management Web App — MVP

## 1. Project Overview

I am looking for an experienced full-stack developer to build a mobile-first web application for grassroots cricket teams in India.

The product will help cricket captains manage match payments, team expenses, squad selection, player availability, attendance, and cricket net practice bookings in one place.

Today, captains commonly use WhatsApp groups, Google Sheets, and personal UPI accounts to coordinate matches and collect money. This creates confusion around pending payments, expenses, player availability, and team coordination.

The objective is to build a simple, polished, user-friendly product that solves these recurring problems. This is an MVP intended for real-world testing with cricket teams, not a large enterprise platform.

## 2. Target Users

* Cricket team captains managing approximately 10–15 players.
* Players who participate in multiple teams or clubs.
* Team managers coordinating matches and practice sessions.
* Cricket net facility owners, in a later expansion phase.

## 3. Core Features Required

### A. User Authentication and Team Management

* Sign-up, login, and user profiles.
* Create a cricket team or join through an invitation link.
* Add, edit, and remove players.
* Assign captain and player roles.
* Support players belonging to multiple teams.
* Share team invitations through WhatsApp or a shareable link.

### B. Match Management and Squad Selection

* Create matches with date, time, venue, and match contribution.
* Track player availability and participation confirmations.
* Select squads for individual matches.
* Maintain player roles, skill categories, substitutes, and selection status.
* Publish squads and share match information.
* Record attendance and maintain match history.

### C. Payment Collection and Financial Tracking

This is the primary feature and must receive particular attention.

* Create match-wise payment requests.
* Split contributions equally or assign custom amounts.
* Track paid, pending, partially paid, and waived amounts.
* Display total expected collections, collected amounts, and outstanding dues.
* Provide UPI payment instructions or payment links where supported.
* Allow players to report payments and captains to verify them.
* Record payment references, expenses, refunds, and adjustments.
* Maintain a separate financial ledger for each team and match.
* Display expense breakdowns and downloadable financial summaries.
* Provide reminders for outstanding contributions.

The system must distinguish player-reported payments from captain-verified payments. Do not claim automatic payment verification without a real integration.

### D. Cricket Nets Discovery and Booking

Add a basic cricket practice management module.

* Display nearby cricket net facilities in a searchable list.
* Show facility name, location, distance, indicative hourly price, and available amenities.
* Allow captains to select a facility, date, time, duration, and number of nets.
* Create team practice sessions and invite players.
* Track attendance confirmations and actual attendance.
* Calculate each player's contribution toward the practice cost.
* Track nets fees, pending payments, and expenses separately from match fees.
* Allow booking requests to be confirmed manually by the facility or administrator.

For the MVP, a curated facility directory and manual booking confirmation are acceptable. Real-time availability, automated reservations, and a full facility-owner marketplace can be developed later.

### E. Player Dashboard

* Upcoming matches and practice sessions.
* Personal payment dues and transaction history.
* Squad selection and availability status.
* Attendance records.
* Expense transparency and team announcements.
* A simple view for switching between multiple teams.

### F. Notifications and Gamification

* Basic in-app notifications and payment reminders.
* Shareable match and practice details.
* Simple badges for attendance consistency and timely contributions.
* Keep gamification secondary to the main functionality.

## 4. Features Outside the Initial Scope

Do not build live scoring, scorecards, detailed cricket statistics, tournament management, ground booking, or complex reward systems.

Do not build a digital wallet or hold customer funds. The initial product should organize payment information and facilitate existing payment methods.

Automated venue integrations and advanced payment-gateway integrations are not mandatory for the MVP.

## 5. UI/UX Requirements

The product must be mobile-first, responsive, and easy to navigate on Android smartphones and desktop browsers.

I want a polished sports-tech design with:

* Clean dashboards and clear navigation.
* A modern, consistent design system.
* Clear payment-status indicators.
* Easy-to-understand forms and confirmation screens.
* Attractive cards, typography, icons, and empty states.
* A professional visual identity suitable for a commercial product.

Please avoid generic admin-dashboard templates. The experience should be designed specifically for Indian grassroots cricket teams.

## 6. Technical Requirements

I am open to recommendations for the technology stack. A suitable approach could include React/Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase or an equivalent backend.

The solution should provide:

* Secure authentication and appropriate access controls.
* A structured database for users, teams, matches, bookings, payments, expenses, and attendance.
* Consistent financial calculations and transaction records.
* Responsive frontend components.
* Maintainable, documented code.
* Secure handling of user information.
* A deployment process suitable for ongoing development.

Use mock data or simulated actions where external integrations are not available. Clearly identify all simulated functionality.

## 7. Expected Deliverables

1. A functional, deployed web application.
2. All agreed MVP screens and user workflows.
3. Frontend and backend source code.
4. Database schema and setup documentation.
5. Deployment and configuration documentation.
6. Testing of the agreed primary workflows.
7. Responsive mobile and desktop layouts.
8. Source code repository and ownership transferred to me.
9. Handover of project accounts, credentials, and environment configuration.
10. A defined post-launch bug-fix period.

All code, designs, and project deliverables must be transferred to me upon completion and payment according to the agreed milestones.

## 8. Budget and Timeline

My budget is open to proposals based on the actual scope and implementation approach. Please provide separate estimates for:

* Phase 1: Core team management, match payments, expenses, and attendance.
* Phase 2: Nets discovery, booking requests, practice attendance, and nets-fee tracking.
* Optional Phase 3: Automated bookings, payment integrations, and advanced features.

Please specify the development timeline, total cost, assumptions, third-party charges, and any features excluded from your quotation.

I prefer milestone-based payments tied to working deliverables and demonstrations.

## 9. What to Include in Your Proposal

Please answer the following:

1. Share two or three relevant projects you have built, preferably SaaS, marketplace, booking, or payment-tracking applications.
2. What technology stack would you recommend, and why?
3. How would you implement the financial ledger and payment-status workflow?
4. How would you implement nearby net discovery and manual booking confirmation?
5. What is your estimated cost and timeline for each phase?
6. What is included in your quotation, and what would cost extra?
7. Will I receive the complete source code and deployment access?
8. What post-launch maintenance and bug-fix support do you provide?

I am looking for a developer who can think beyond coding, recommend practical solutions, communicate clearly, and build a reliable MVP that can be tested with real users.

Please prioritize a working, maintainable product over unnecessary complexity. I am open to reducing scope if it helps launch faster without compromising the core user experience.
