**Video Editing Intern – YouTube, Reels & Shorts | Remote | Monthly Stipend**

I’m looking for a creative **Video Editing Intern** to work with me on an ongoing basis across YouTube and short-form social content.

I’m not looking for someone who simply cuts footage and adds transitions.

I’m looking for someone who understands **storytelling, pacing and attention** — and can take raw footage and turn it into content people actually want to watch.

### What You’ll Work On

You’ll primarily help with:

- YouTube long-form video editing
- Instagram Reels & YouTube Shorts
- Finding and adding relevant B-roll
- Visual storytelling and creative transitions
- Motion graphics and text animation
- Subtitles and on-screen text
- Audio cleanup, music and sound design
- Repurposing long-form videos into multiple Shorts/Reels
- Improving pacing and removing unnecessary sections
- Using AI tools where they can make the content better
- Creating simple AI-generated visuals or B-roll when required

The content will primarily be **talking-head, educational, professional and storytelling-led**, so good judgment is more important than flashy editing.

### What I’m Looking For

You **do not need years of professional experience**.

A talented student, beginner editor or someone building their portfolio is absolutely welcome to apply.

But you should have:

- A strong sense of pacing and storytelling
- An understanding of what makes viewers keep watching
- A good eye for B-roll and visual selection
- Understanding of YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels
- Good sense of music, typography and transitions
- Familiarity with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut, VN, After Effects or similar
- Curiosity about AI video and creative tools
- Ability to take feedback and improve quickly
- Attention to detail
- Ability to deliver work consistently

### One Thing That Matters to Me

**Don't over-edit.**

I don't want every sentence covered with an animation, zoom, sound effect or stock video.

The editing should support the **idea and story**, not compete with it.

Knowing **when not to add something** is as important as knowing how to add it.

### Compensation

This is a **remote internship with a fixed monthly stipend**.

Compensation will depend on your current skill level, portfolio and availability. Paid for the content output hours.

This is intended to be an **ongoing engagement**, not a one-off editing project.

If we work well together, there is potential for the role to grow over time.

### How to Apply

Please include:

1. A short introduction about yourself
2. Links to your **3 best edits**
3. Which editing software you primarily use
4. Any AI video/image tools you know
5. Your **expected monthly stipend**
6. Your weekly availability
7. How soon you can start

**Don't have a big portfolio? That's okay.**

Send me one piece of work that best demonstrates your editing ability and creative judgment.

Then answer this in **one sentence**:

**What makes a well-edited video different from an over-edited video?**

I'm much more interested in your answer to that question — and the quality of your work — than the number of years you've been editing.
