AI Cinematic Short Film – Ancient Egyptian Historical Immersion
I am looking for a skilled AI video creator / cinematic AI filmmaker to produce a 5–10-minute immersive historical short film as a personalised birthday gift for my mother.
Project Concept
The film will portray my mother as a woman living in Ancient Egypt during the Pharaonic period, ideally the New Kingdom (approximately 1550–1069 BCE).
Rather than creating a conventional AI slideshow or a simple video of someone dressed as an Egyptian queen, I want to create an atmospheric, cinematic experience that makes the viewer feel as though they have travelled back thousands of years.
My mother should be the central character, experiencing the civilisation and its everyday life.
Creative Direction
I want particular emphasis on:
- Historical world-building: Ancient Egyptian architecture, settlements, palaces, temples, courtyards, markets, domestic interiors and landscapes.
- Everyday lifestyle: Clothing, jewellery, food preparation, occupations, crafts, transportation, social interactions and domestic routines.
- Environment and atmosphere: The Nile, desert landscapes, palm trees, mud-brick houses, boats, sunlight, shadows, wind, water and ambient environmental sounds.
- Cultural authenticity: Historically appropriate architecture, clothing, objects and social customs, avoiding generic fantasy-style Egyptian imagery.
- Character consistency: My mother's facial appearance should remain recognisable and reasonably consistent throughout the film. I can provide reference photographs for this purpose.
Possible Sequence of Scenes
1. Ancient Egypt at dawn – an atmospheric introduction to the Nile and surrounding settlements.
2. My mother's daily life – awakening, dressing, jewellery, personal surroundings and domestic routines.
3. The ancient city – markets, merchants, artisans, food, pottery, textiles and interactions with people.
4. Monumental architecture – temples, palaces, courtyards, painted columns and historical structures.
5. Life along the Nile – boats, agriculture, river activities and the surrounding landscape.
6. An atmospheric closing sequence – my mother overlooking the Nile at sunset.
These are preliminary ideas and can be developed into a coherent narrative.
Visual and Audio Requirements
- Cinematic, realistic and visually immersive presentation.
- Natural-looking character movements and facial features.
- Consistent character appearance across scenes.
- Slow camera movements, establishing shots, environmental details and beautiful compositions.
- Appropriate background music and environmental sound effects.
- Optional poetic or historically informative narration.
- Smooth editing and transitions.
- 1080p output preferred, if achievable within budget.
- Landscape 16:9 format.
Budget and Production Preferences
This is a personal, non-commercial birthday project, and I am working with a limited budget.
I am particularly interested in creators who:
- Work with affordable or free/open-source AI image and video generation tools.
- Can achieve good results without expensive proprietary subscriptions.
- Have experience with AI filmmaking, image-to-video generation, character consistency and cinematic editing.
- Can suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising too much on quality.
I am open to discussing different production approaches and realistic budgets.
What I Expect from the Freelancer
Please share:
1. Examples of previous AI cinematic films or historical reconstructions.
2. Which AI tools and models you intend to use.
3. Your estimated price for a 5–10-minute finished film.
4. Whether character consistency using my mother's photographs is achievable.
5. Your estimated turnaround time.
6. Whether you can provide a short sample scene before committing to the full project.
Important: I value atmosphere, historical detail and storytelling more than flashy visual effects. I would rather have a coherent, beautifully constructed historical experience than a collection of visually impressive but disconnected AI clips.
