I need an experienced Cisco L1 field engineer to be on-site at our office in San Jose, Costa Rica for two initial visits—one weekday and one weekend day—with the possibility of follow-on dates. We are replacing a stack of Cisco Catalyst access switches and I need reliable Smart Hands assistance while a remote L2 engineer drives the configuration.
Here is what you will handle on site:
• Rack, power on, and properly cable the new Catalyst switches.
• De-install the old units, move existing copper Ethernet runs to the new stack, and keep everything clearly labeled.
• Seat the SFP/SFP+ transceivers, patch and secure the fiber uplinks, and verify light.
• Provide console/remote access to the L2 engineer so they can push configs, then stay available for any basic troubleshooting or port testing they request.
Success for each visit means every link comes up cleanly, the remote engineer confirms connectivity, and the workspace is left tidy with cable management in place.
You will need to bring your own basic tool kit (screwdrivers, cable tester, optical cleaner, console cable, laptop) and be comfortable working after hours during the weekend change window. English is necessary for communication on site; the remote team is English-speaking.
If you are local to San Jose, know your way around Cisco Catalyst hardware, and can commit to both dates, I’d like to hear from you.
