I’m rolling out a new line of party poppers and need an expert in plastic materials to bring the raw-material costs to an absolute minimum without sacrificing performance or safety. Your mission is two-fold: pinpoint the most suitable resins for the popper body and cap, and lock in reliable, low-price sources for each.

Material Focus
You’ll concentrate exclusively on plastics—evaluating resin grades, fillers, and recycled options that can handle the stresses of the popping mechanism while meeting any toy-safety or consumer-goods standards. When a cheaper but still compliant alternative exists, I want to know about it.

Cost-Cutting & Sourcing
Beyond recommending materials, I expect you to handle the sourcing strategy: identify suppliers, compare regional price breaks, and highlight opportunities for volume or co-molding efficiencies. Your insights on tooling implications, additive packages, and shipping considerations will be invaluable in hitting our target unit cost.

Key Deliverables
• Bill of Materials (BOM) with part numbers, resin specifications, and cost per 1 000 units
• Supplier details for each line item—contact name, location, MOQ, lead time, and quoted price
• A concise rationale document explaining why each material and supplier was chosen and how it supports the cost-reduction goals

I’ll provide full CAD files and current design specs. If you spot quick design tweaks that shave off grams or cycle time, include them. Experience with injection-molded consumer goods, cost optimization, and supplier negotiations is a must. Let me know your expected timeline for the initial material shortlist and any information you require from me to get started.
