Corporate Sponsorship Specialist

I'm seeking a specialist fundraising expert/advisor to support the Conservators of the River Cam in securing financial contributions, sponsorships, and donor support for the urgent repair works required at Jesus Lock Island.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a targeted fundraising strategy focused on local businesses, philanthropic donors, and corporate sponsors.

Identify and map potential funders whose priorities align with the project.

Prepare high‑quality fundraising materials, sponsorship proposals, and tailored approaches for senior business leaders.

Lead outreach and engagement with prospective sponsors, including initial contact, follow‑up, and relationship management.

Advise on appropriate funding tiers, recognition packages, and donor benefits.

Support negotiations and ensure all sponsorship arrangements align with compliance requirements.

Provide regular progress updates to the Conservators and maintain accurate records of all fundraising activity.

Skills and Experience Required

Proven experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, or development roles.

Strong understanding of heritage, environmental, or public‑infrastructure fundraising.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, particularly with senior business stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and deliver results within defined timelines.

Familiarity with sponsorship agreements and non‑equity funding arrangements.

Contract Duration A fixed‑term engagement of 3–6 months, aligned with the fundraising window required to secure contributions for the project.
