Praytell is building our bench of experienced Media Relations Consultants with deep relationships across top-tier corporate and business media to support client work as opportunities arise. This is an evergreen opportunity rather than an opening tied to one specific assignment, and we’re always interested in connecting with experienced media relations professionals for future projects.
We’re looking for someone who loves to pitch and knows how to get in the door with outlets like CNBC, Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company, Bloomberg, Business Insider, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Reuters, Axios and other leading national business publications.
Beyond day-to-day pitching, you’ll help identify compelling story angles, build thought leadership opportunities and shape media strategies that elevate companies and executives. We’re particularly interested in someone with broad corporate communications experience, including work across sustainability, DEI, investor relations, corporate announcements, executive communications and reputation management.
What You’ll Do

Lead hands-on pitching and outreach to top-tier national business and corporate media

Leverage existing relationships with reporters, editors and producers to open doors and create meaningful opportunities for clients

Develop and pitch thought leadership opportunities that position executives as credible voices on relevant business, industry and cultural conversations

Identify compelling story angles across client businesses, executives, data, industry trends and the broader news cycle

Translate complex corporate narratives into stories journalists will actually care about

Support corporate communications efforts across sustainability, DEI, investor relations, corporate announcements, executive communications and reputation management

Develop media strategies that build visibility and strengthen corporate and executive reputation

Identify proactive opportunities beyond major announcements to keep clients part of the broader business conversation

Advise clients and internal teams on what is newsworthy and what it will take to earn meaningful coverage

Develop pitches, messaging, executive positioning, media materials and briefing documents as needed

What We’re Looking For

Significant experience in corporate communications and top-tier business media relations

Established relationships with reporters, editors and producers across leading national business outlets

A proven track record of securing coverage with outlets such as CNBC, Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company, Bloomberg, Business Insider, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Reuters and Axios

Deep experience developing and pitching thought leadership opportunities for senior executives

Broad corporate communications experience across sustainability, DEI, investor relations, corporate announcements, executive communications and reputation management

Excellent storytelling and media instincts, with the ability to find compelling angles within complex corporate subject matter

A genuine love of pitching and willingness to personally own outreach and follow-up

Strong executive presence and confidence advising senior clients and internal teams

Ability to get up to speed quickly and operate with a high degree of autonomy

Because this is an evergreen freelance opportunity, timing, scope and hours will vary by project. Even if there isn’t an immediate assignment that aligns with your experience and availability, we’d still love to connect and keep in touch for future opportunities.
