I'm an academic researcher looking for two independent coders to rate short pieces of text from corporate earnings calls for a management research project.
The work
Coder A and Coder B each rate the same 200 items: 100 short paragraphs and 100 questions.
You'll follow a clear coding guide with definitions and examples, and enter your ratings into a provided spreadsheet.
Each item takes about two to read, rate, and leave a short note for.
You'll work independently. Please don't consult the other coder, because I need independent judgments.
Who I'm looking for
Based in the United States only.
Proven professional experience at a financial or investment company or organization. Examples are investment banking, asset or fund management, equity research, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, and financial advisory or consulting. Your experience must be verifiable.
A strong grasp of how executives and analysts talk on earnings calls.
Careful, consistent and detail-oriented.
Fluent English.
Please do not apply if you do not have both of the following:
A master's degree or higher in finance, investment or an MBA, or extensive professional experience in the field.
An established Freelancer profile with positive client reviews. Applicants with no reviews will not be considered.
Deliverables
Completed rating spreadsheet for all 200 items.
A short note on any items you found ambiguous.
Timeline: 10 days from the start
Estimated time: roughly 8 hours per coder
