Conversion-Focused Social Content

We are an established café in Darwin, Australia, looking for a talented and creative Social Media Content Creator / Video Editor to take our online presence to the next level.
We want our Instagram and Facebook pages to properly represent our café, our food and our personality — with slick, modern and engaging content that makes people stop scrolling. We are also interested in developing our presence on TikTok.
What We're Looking For
This is not simply a social media posting or scheduling role.
We want someone who can CREATE.
You should be confident producing:
High-quality Instagram and Facebook Reels
Short-form videos
Food and café promotional content
Professional photo edits
Creative graphics and promotional posts
Stories and other engaging social content
TikTok-style content where appropriate
We are based in Darwin, but we're completely comfortable working with someone overseas.
How the Remote Arrangement Will Work
We will take the raw photos and video footage ourselves at the café and send the files to you.
However, we don't expect you simply to work with whatever we happen to send.
We want you to direct us.
For example, you might tell us:
“Film this dish being plated from this angle.”
“Get three 5-second close-ups of the chef preparing the dish.”
“Take a slow video of the coffee pouring.”
“Film a customer cutting into this dish.”
“Walk through the café with the camera positioned like this.”
We can then capture what you need and send you the raw footage.
Your job is to take that material and turn it into polished, professional, attention-grabbing social content.
About Us
We are Salvatore's Café, an established café in Darwin CBD, Australia, operating since 1997.
We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, together with coffee, desserts and other products, so there is plenty happening in the café and plenty of potential content.
We don't want our social media to look overly corporate, fake or artificial.
We want it to still feel like a real, established local café — just presented at a much higher professional standard.

We also want someone who can contribute ideas rather than waiting for us to tell you what to post.
If you see an opportunity for a Reel, promotion, behind-the-scenes video, staff feature, food video or other piece of content, we want you to suggest it.
IMPORTANT – Portfolio Requirement
When applying, please provide links to 3 specific Reels or short-form videos that YOU personally created and edited.
Please don't simply send us a large generic portfolio.
Hospitality, restaurant, café or food-related examples are preferred, although excellent work from other industries will also be considered.
Also briefly explain how you would approach working remotely with our café when we are responsible for capturing the raw footage under your direction.
Paid Trial
We intend to shortlist a small number of applicants for a paid trial before choosing the person we work with long-term.
Shortlisted applicants will be provided with the same or similar raw photos/video footage from our café and asked to create a Reel or short piece of social content.
The trial will be paid.
This isn't about getting free work from applicants. We simply want to see how different creators interpret real footage from our café and determine whose creative style best suits Salvatore's.
Ongoing Opportunity
This is not intended to be a one-off project.
Our goal is to find one great person who understands our business and can work with us consistently over the longer term.
Once we establish the right workflow, we expect to regularly send photos and video footage for editing and content creation.
We are interested in creativity, reliability and quality — your location doesn't matter.
