Contract Cold-Formed Steel Engineer

I need reliable support on a steady stream of cold-formed steel jobs and want to work with someone who can eventually grow into a full-time position on my team. You will take mixed-use projects from schematic framing layouts through stamped calculations and construction-ready drawings, leaning on AISI S100 / S240 and the applicable IBC or IRC chapters.

Day-to-day you’ll run gravity and lateral checks, size load-bearing studs, joists, headers, and bracing, and either create or red-line shop drawings in the platform that best suits the job. Most of my workflow lives in CFS Designer, AutoCAD, and Revit, but I’m happy when a partner is also comfortable in RISA, CUFSM, FRAMECAD, or Vertex BD—feel free to use whatever combination lets you hit the schedule we agree on.

Turnaround times are critical, so clear communication and an organised calculation package matter as much as the numbers themselves. If you already hold a PE or SE licence that’s fantastic, though I’m still open to talented designers who can collaborate with my reviewing engineer.
