Connect PIXMA to Chromebook

My Canon PIXMA simply won’t show up when I search for it from my HP Chromebook over Wi-Fi. I’ve already tried the standard “Add printer” flow in Chrome OS and confirmed both devices sit on the same network, yet the Chromebook still reports that no printer can be found.
I’m looking for step-by-step, remote guidance (chat, call, or screen-sharing—whatever works best) to get this PIXMA discovered and fully functional. If the fix involves tweaking the router, updating the printer’s firmware, adding the printer manually via CUPS/IPP, or temporarily switching to a USB setup just to capture the IP address, I’m open to it—as long as we end with reliable wireless printing.
Deliverables:
• Chromebook detects the PIXMA in its printer list
• Successful wireless test page sent from the Chromebook
Once those boxes are ticked, we’re done. Thanks!
