I am looking for a patient and reliable French tutor for long-term one-on-one online lessons.
I am currently a complete beginner in French. My long-term goal is to reach approximately CBC-level French in Canada by around June 2028.
For now, I want to build a strong foundation rather than focus heavily on exam preparation.
I am already studying French grammar independently using a beginner grammar book, so I would like tutoring to focus mainly on:
* pronunciation and speaking correctly from the beginning
* beginner conversation
* listening comprehension
* using grammar naturally in sentences
* vocabulary building
* correcting my speaking mistakes
* gradually improving reading and writing
* eventually progressing toward advanced reading and speaking and intermediate writing
I would prefer a tutor who has experience teaching adult beginners and who can provide a structured learning plan.
Initially, I would like one 45–60 minute lesson per week. As my French improves, I may increase the frequency.
During lessons, I want to speak and practise as much as possible rather than spend the entire lesson listening to grammar explanations.
Please include in your proposal:
1. Your French teaching experience.
2. Experience teaching complete beginners.
3. Whether you are a native or fluent French speaker.
4. How you would structure my first 2–3 months.
5. What materials you normally use.
6. Your hourly rate.
7. Whether you can provide a short trial lesson.
Experience with Canadian French or Canadian CBC-level language preparation is a bonus, but it is not required at the beginner stage.
My goal is to work consistently with the same tutor for the long term if the teaching style is a good fit.
