I am looking for an experienced electrical engineer to design a compact, battery-powered RGB LED PCB that operates efficiently, reliably, and safely.
Please provide examples of similar PCB projects.
PCB Requirements:
Teardrop-shaped PCB: 50 mm × 37 mm.
18 miniature RGB LEDs with adjustable colors and brightness.
Powered by one CR2477 3V coin-cell battery.
The thickness of the PCB and components needs to as minimal as possible.
The push button on/off switch need to be tall enough to protrude thru the case to allow the user to turn it on/off and control dimming. Also the RGB push button switch will change the color of the lights.
Target 8 hours of continuous operation, if feasible.
Compact, low-profile components.
One push button for On/Off, dimming, and color selection.
PCB need edge distance for mounting and needs mounting holes.
Battery holder must be low profile and hold the battery securely and be easy to remove and replace the battery.
Engineer must select all electronic components and design the complete circuit.
Needs to be designed for manufacturing.
I will need all the PCB files so I can give the files to the manufacturer to make the PCB and install all needed parts onto the pcb.
1. Gerber files (all required layers)
2. NC drill files
3. Complete Bill of Materials (BOM) with manufacturer part numbers
4. Pick-and-place (CPL) files
5. Electrical schematics (PDF and editable source)
6. Editable PCB design files (KiCad or Altium)
7. PCB fabrication and assembly drawings
8. 3D STEP model with component dimensions
9. Electrical safety, battery-life, and thermal testing documentation
10. Firmware and programming files, if applicable
Requirements: The design must be compact, battery-powered, energy-efficient, and engineered to minimize overheating, short circuits, and fire or burn hazards.
All files must be ready for professional PCB manufacturing and component assembly without redesign. The freelancer must also provide a validated prototype design and correct any identified design errors before final delivery.
You will need to use PCB simulation and design verification software to identify problems before manufacturing a physical PCB.
Safety Requirements — Highest Priority:
Prevent overheating, burns, short circuits, and fire hazards.
Minimize battery current consumption and heat generation.
Include appropriate electrical and thermal protection.
Verify safe battery operation and component temperatures.
Recommend safer, more efficient components if necessary.
Required Deliverables:
Complete PCB schematic and layout.
Provide me all source files, firmware, code, and any other files to make my design.
I want my design to be simple and easy to make with fewest components possible.
I will need a parts list of easily supplied parts that are found in abundance.
All electronic components selected with a detailed BOM.
Manufacturing-ready Gerber files and editable design files.
Microcontroller firmware, if required.
Battery-life and thermal calculations.
Working prototype with electrical and temperature testing (quote separately).
Engineer Qualifications:
Experience with miniature battery-powered PCBs, RGB LEDs, low-power electronics, and thermal safety.
This is a confidential product design. The final application will not be disclosed during initial bidding. All completed design files must be provided to the client.
I will own the full and exclusive copyrights to all software, firmware, text, sound, images, raw files, source files, project files, and all work created for me.
I will keep all work you provide the software, text, sound, images, raw files, source files, project files, and all work created for me.
I will release the full milestone when the pcb, software, and entire project is completed, checked, delivered, and accepted by me.
I do not pay any milestones until software, source code, firmware is completed, all files delivered, all testing, images, files, all fixes, all features, all setup, all instructions are completed and accepted by me.
If your work is High Quality and exactly what I need I would be interested in considering you for Future projects.
I don't communicate on Sundays and I don't expect you to work on Sundays.
