I am developing a small, filtered laser module and need an experienced photonics Engineer to assist.

The priority is the diffractive optics: shaping the beam with an axicon-based element and coupling it cleanly through the rest of the laser system. Once I provide the specification, your job is to translate those requirements into a practical, test-ready design.

Core focus
• Diffractive optics: model, design and optimise the axicon element that sits at the heart of the device, then validate its performance through simulation and tolerancing.
• Laser module integration: ensure the designed element mates mechanically and optically with the diode, filter stack and any relay optics already sketched out in my draft.
- The whole design must be compact

Additional expectations
• Source off-the-shelf or rapid-turn custom parts locally so you can bench-test prototypes.
• Highlight any cost-saving substitutions without compromising performance.
• Supply clear design files if required (such as a suitable housing)

I value direct, engineer-to-engineer communication—please respond with a brief outline of similar diffractive projects you’ve handled.
