I have a set of mechanical drawings for a commercial HVAC system and I need an accurate material take-off. The focus is on all ductwork—main trunks, branches, fittings, dampers, insulation sheets—as well as the scheduled equipment. Pipe runs are not required this time.

I will supply PDF plans (and DWGs if you prefer) along with any specification sheets already issued by the engineer. From those, I need a clear, itemised spreadsheet that lists:

• duct sizes and total linear lengths
• quantities of elbows, transitions, dampers and other fittings
• equipment counts with model references, capacities and tag numbers

Please break totals down per floor and note anything that looks unclear on the plans so I can resolve it quickly with the design team.

I typically review take-offs in Excel.

Accuracy is key; I will be cross-checking spot measurements. If you’ve handled commercial HVAC take-offs before and can turn this around within a week, I look forward to working together.
