CJIS-Compliant Jail Tech Implementation

Our detention facility is preparing to roll out a new Records Management System (RMS) and Jail Management System (JMS). To make the transition smooth and audit-ready, I need guidance from someone who has hands-on experience with CJIS compliance, NIBRS reporting, and day-to-day jail operations—ideally a retired law-enforcement or corrections technology specialist who has lived through these standards in the field.

Scope of work
• Lead the end-to-end implementation of the RMS/JMS, mapping current workflows to the new platform, configuring user roles, security controls, and CJIS-aligned data retention rules.
• Integrate automated NIBRS reporting so incident data flows directly to state and federal repositories without manual re-keying.
• Provide practical, scenario-based training—both on site and remotely—for officers, booking staff, supervisors, and IT support so they are comfortable using the new systems from day one.
• Create quick-reference job aids and a succinct compliance checklist we can keep on file for future CJIS audits.

Acceptance criteria
1. RMS and JMS are fully functional in a test environment, passing a simulated CJIS security audit.
2. NIBRS files transmit successfully and are accepted without errors.
3. At least 90 % of frontline users score 80 % or higher on a post-training proficiency quiz.
