I need an experienced field engineer to be on-site at Ninety-One Port Elizabeth, 202 Main Road, Walmer, Gqeberha, Port Elizabeth, 6065, South Africa on Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 4:30 PM (local time). The sole focus of this visit is to install new Cisco networking gear that will arrive on the day.
You will be expected to rack or wall-mount the hardware, run and dress the copper/fibre links, patch into the existing core, apply the basic startup configuration I will supply in advance, and verify end-to-end connectivity before leaving. Please bring the usual tool kit—screwdrivers, cable tester, label printer, laptop with console cable, and any small consumables you routinely use—so we can keep the appointment tight.
Deliverables on the day:
• Installed and powered-up Cisco equipment with clean cable management
• Initial configuration loaded and saved
• Successful ping/throughput test to the upstream switch
• Quick photo set and a short handover report emailed before you leave site
The location occasionally works with brands like Juniper Networks or Netgear, so familiarity with multivendor environments is a plus, but for this assignment the hardware is 100 % Cisco. If you know the platform cold and can commit to the stated date and time, I look forward to working with you.
