# Cinematic Video Editor Needed – Amsterdam Dance Event Motivational Running Story
Video duration: Approximately 45–55 seconds\
Format: 16:9 horizontal widescreen (1920 × 1080)\
Style: Cinematic, motivational, emotional, documentary-style
## Project Overview
We are looking for a talented and creative video editor to produce a high-quality cinematic video featuring two internationally known DJs during Amsterdam Dance Event.
The story is simple but powerful.
After an extremely demanding week of performing at Amsterdam Dance Event, playing multiple shows and working late into the night, they still decided to wake up and show up at 11:00 AM the following morning to run 5 kilometres.
The message is about discipline, mindset and making time for your health, even when life gets extremely busy.
We want something that feels like a premium motivational short film, not a traditional advertisement.
## Footage & Reference Videos
Google Drive – All footage and references:\
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12CF71o7lnBbn9-CMVkx4sazo7NZNA-hd?usp=sharing
The Google Drive folder contains all our recorded footage and two important reference videos:
Reference Video 1 – Editing & Storytelling
This shows how we want the final video to be structured and edited.
Please pay close attention to the pacing, voice-over, storytelling, music, transitions, subtitles and overall cinematic atmosphere.
We want a very similar editing approach.
Reference Video 2 – Colour Grading
This is specifically a reference for the colour grading.
Please study the colours, contrast, tones, highlights and overall cinematic look. We want the final video to closely match this visual aesthetic.
Our Instagram – Additional visual inspiration:\

You can also check our Instagram to better understand the overall quality and visual style we are aiming for.
## Additional Amsterdam Dance Event Footage
We have recorded our own footage, but we may not have every shot needed to tell the complete story.
If certain scenes are missing, you are welcome to source additional footage from Amsterdam Dance Event, such as:
- The DJs performing on stage (Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano)
- Crowds jumping and celebrating
- Energetic moments behind the DJ booth
- Festival lighting and atmosphere
- Wide shots of the audience and venue
Please use our original footage as the main source.
Any additional footage should blend naturally with our recordings.
## Proposed Voice-Over Script
We would like a natural, deep, authentic male voice-over in English, similar to the first reference video.
The delivery should feel conversational and motivational, not like an advertisement.
SCRIPT:
"It's been a long week, man.
Amsterdam Dance Event.
Packed rooms. Late nights.
One show after another.
Last night, they were still behind the decks.
And this morning?
11 a.m.
Five kilometres.
They could've stayed in bed.
Nobody would've blamed them.
But that's the thing, man.
When life gets busy, your health is usually the first thing you push aside.
Don't.
Make the time.
Get outside.
One foot in front of the other.
Because it's not about the five kilometres.
It's about showing up for yourself.
It starts in your mind.
And your body follows."
The script can be slightly adjusted to improve the storytelling, flow and timing.
## Editing Direction
Part 1 – The Amsterdam Dance Event Experience
Start with powerful footage from Amsterdam Dance Event. DJ performances, crowds, lights and the energy of nightlife.
The viewer should immediately understand how intense their week has been.
Part 2 – The Morning After
Create a strong transition from the energetic nightlife to the calm morning.
Show the preparation for running, getting ready and the beginning of the 5 km run.
The contrast between the two environments should be one of the strongest moments in the video.
Part 3 – The Run
Use the best cinematic running footage.
Mix real-time footage and slow motion where appropriate.
Include natural sounds, footsteps, breathing and authentic moments.
Gradually build the music and emotional intensity.
Part 4 – The Message
The most powerful moment should be:
"Because it's not about the five kilometres. It's about showing up for yourself."
Match this moment with the strongest visuals and musical climax.
End with a beautiful cinematic final shot.
## Technical & Creative Requirements
- 16:9 horizontal video, full-screen widescreen
- Minimum resolution: 1920 × 1080 (4K preferred if source quality allows)
- Approximately 45–55 seconds
- Cinematic colour grading matching Reference Video 2
- Storytelling and editing inspired by Reference Video 1
- Professional sound design and music selection
- Natural, motivational English voice-over
- Clean, subtle English subtitles
- Smooth transitions and professional pacing
- No excessive effects or flashy animations
We would also like the editable Adobe Premiere Pro project file and a final export without subtitles.
## Important
We are not looking for a basic video editor who simply puts clips together.
We want someone who understands cinematic storytelling, emotional pacing, sound design and professional colour grading.
Please review both reference videos before starting. They are extremely important to understanding our expectations.
When applying, please share examples of similar cinematic projects you have edited and confirm whether your quote includes voice-over production, music licensing and two rounds of revisions.
The goal is to create a short film that makes people feel motivated and reminds them that no matter how busy life gets, their health should never be forgotten.
You must provide the Premiere editing file, including a render of the final product!
