I’m creating “Kings For Chess,” a web platform with a companion Android app where players can meet and play chess online in real time. The core of the project is an intuitive, lag-free chess board that works the same on desktop browsers and on the Android app, backed by a single user database so accounts stay in sync across both surfaces.
Key functionality
• Secure user registration and login (email, Google, or social sign-ins—whichever is quickest to implement while still safe).
• Basic profile pages where players can upload an avatar, set a tagline, and see their game history.
• Friend list so users can quickly challenge one another or track when friends are online.
• Fast, server-validated move handling with illegal-move prevention, timers, and automatic game result recording.
• Simple matchmaking: “Play a Friend” and “Quick Match” should be available from day one.
• Clean, modern UI that keeps the focus on the board; I’m open to your preferred design framework as long as it’s responsive on web and feels native on Android.
Deliverables
1. Production-ready website (domain and hosting already arranged).
2. Android APK + Google Play-ready bundle.
3. Shared backend with REST or WebSocket endpoints and a lightweight admin panel for user and game moderation.
4. Source code in a Git repo, installation/compile instructions, and short user guide.
Acceptance criteria
• Register → log in → start a game against a friend in no more than three taps/clicks.
• Moves appear on both players’ screens in under one second on a standard 4G connection.
• A completed game is correctly written to both players’ histories and visible on their profiles.
If you have experience with real-time multiplayer (Firebase, Socket.IO, or similar) and a front-end stack that lets you share components between web and Android (e.g., React + React Native, Flutter, or Kotlin Multiplatform), let me know your preferred approach and timeline. I’m ready to get started as soon as we agree on the tech stack and milestones.
