POSITION OVERVIEW: WHATNOT LIVESTREAM HOST (USA/UK)
We are looking for an energetic, charismatic, and sales-driven Livestream Host to launch and anchor our new Whatnot channel. We specialize in high-demand, high-margin Japanese import goods—including vintage watches (Seiko, Casio, Citizen), retro gaming, and unique pop-culture collectibles.
The Deal & Compensation Structure:
• 100% Commission-Based (50/50 Profit Split): There is no fixed hourly base rate or safety net. Instead, we run a clean 50/50 split on the net profit of every single show (Total sales minus raw item costs and Whatnot marketplace fees).
• Zero Financial Risk: We take 100% of the financial risk. We buy, curate, and pay for all inventory and international express shipping. Fresh "Mega-Boxes" will arrive straight to your doorstep via FedEx/DHL every single week.
• Earning Potential: Your income is entirely dependent on your sales performance and energy on camera. On part-time, expected net pay for your share is $1,200 – $1,800 / £1,000 – £1,500 per month. For full-time daily streaming, this scales to $5,000 – $7,500 / £4,000 – £6,000 per month.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Host Live Shows (3-4 hours per stream):
• Go live on Whatnot 3 times a week (with the view to scale to full-time daily streaming).
• Maintain high energy on camera, engage with the chat, and build a loyal community of repeat buyers.
• Run fast-paced, exciting auctions to drive bidding momentum ("FOMO").
2. Inventory Preparation & Cataloging:
• Receive, unbox, and do a quick visual inspection of the incoming Japanese bulk lots.
• Take 5–10 minutes before each show to pre-load items into the Whatnot shop catalog (setting titles and starting bids).
• Basic cosmetic prep if needed (e.g., a quick wipe down of a watch crystal or console screen to make it look great under the studio lights).
3. Order Fulfillment & Shipping:
• Securely pack won items using Whatnot-generated shipping labels after each show.
• Drop off packages at USPS/UPS/Royal Mail within Whatnot’s required shipping window.
4. Feedback & Communication:
• Communicate with us regarding what items performed best, what the chat was asking for, and what inventory we should secure next on the Japanese auctions.
Requirements:
• Based in the United States or United Kingdom with a clean, well-lit space for streaming.
• Excellent on-camera presence, clear English communication, and a natural ability to sell.
• Basic knowledge or passion for either watches, retro gaming, or vintage collectibles is a huge plus.
• A reliable smartphone/tablet and a stable, high-speed internet connection.
