I need a clean, reusable Excel template that lets me create accurate cash-flow statements quickly. It will be used strictly for financial reporting in one currency, so there is no need for multi-currency logic or complex conversion tables.
Here’s what I expect once it’s finished:
• An input section where I can drop raw cash-in and cash-out data and immediately see it flow through to the report.
• Automated classifications (operating, investing, financing) driven by formulas or data-validation lists rather than manual edits.
• A presentation-ready statement layout with clear totals, month-by-month columns, and year-to-date summaries.
• Built-in checks that flag negative balances or obvious entry errors.
• Light, intuitive formatting—think conditional highlights for variances, easy print scaling, and a dashboard-style header that pulls headline numbers at a glance.
I’m fine with native Excel functions—INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, dynamic arrays—rather than VBA, unless you feel a small macro would streamline it. The finished file should be unlocked enough for me to tweak labels, but core formulas protected so nothing breaks.
If this sounds straightforward to you, let’s discuss timing and hand-off.
