Cartoon Animal Illustrations

I’m looking for a creative illustrator to design a series of cartoon-style animal graphics for a children’s book aimed at young readers aged 4-7. The artwork should be bright, friendly, and expressive—perfect for capturing a child’s imagination.

Scope
• Produce a cohesive set of cartoon animals that will appear throughout the story.
• Each illustration must fit standard picture-book page dimensions and leave room for text placement.
• Deliver finished files in layered PSD or AI format, plus high-resolution PNGs with transparent backgrounds for easy layout.

Visual Direction
Think warm colors, playful proportions, and clear, readable shapes. The animals should have distinct personalities without being overly detailed, so they remain engaging and easy to recognize for early readers.

Workflow
1. Rough character sketches for approval.
2. Color roughs to lock in palette and mood.
3. Final clean illustrations with layers organized and named.

Please include a link to your portfolio—especially any previous children’s book or cartoon animal work—so I can get a feel for your style.
