Cartoon Animal Book Illustrations

I’m putting together a picture book aimed at children aged 4–6 and need a series of bright, engaging cartoon-style illustrations featuring lovable animal characters. The story is already locked; what will bring it to life is your ability to convey emotion, movement, and simple visual humour that resonates with early readers.

Here’s what I’d like from you:
• Full-colour, print-ready artwork (CMYK, 300 dpi) for each page or spread
• Layered source files (AI, PSD or Procreate) so text can be adjusted later
• A cohesive palette and character design sheet to ensure consistency throughout the book
• One cover illustration that pops on both digital storefronts and physical shelves

I’ll share the manuscript and pagination once we start so you can plan the composition and pacing. If you have experience illustrating animals with expressive faces and clear storytelling silhouettes, you’ll be a perfect fit. Please include a link to similar work in your portfolio and let me know roughly how many illustrations you suggest after reading the manuscript.

My acceptance criteria are simple: crisp linework, vibrant colours that reproduce well in print and on screen, and characters that hold a 4- to 6-year-old’s attention from the first page to the last.
