I am undertaking an MSc Research Project on the operational and sustainability implications of captive steam-turbine power generation in an energy-intensive manufacturing facility, using Devki Samburu as a case study.

The actual system comprises 30 MT metal-melting furnaces, steam generation and a steam-driven turbine for captive electricity generation, supplemented by mains electricity. Current indicative figures are approximately 55 MW captive generation and 35 MW mains supply, subject to verification.

I require research support in developing the research proposal, literature review, research methodology, ethics documentation, data-analysis framework and final manuscript structure.

Important: The research must not assume or fabricate operational data. Any Devki-specific figures, interviews, documents or findings must be based on information that I am authorised to obtain and provide.

The project must be suitable for an MSc in Engineering Operations Management and should demonstrate critical analysis rather than simply describing steam turbines or sustainability.

The final research should investigate the relationship between captive power generation and operational performance, energy performance, economic implications and sustainability.

The university requires ethical approval before research/data collection, so the work should be structured in stages, with the ethics application prepared before any primary data collection.

All academic sources must be genuine, traceable and appropriately referenced. No fabricated citations, data, participants, interviews or findings.
