Canadian French Translation for Soap Studio
Budget / Salary£20–250
TypeFreelance project
LocationRemote

We are MUNI Atelier, a small studio in Richmond, British Columbia. We make cold-process soap and a few candles in short batches. Every bar has a different pattern. We already sell in English. We need Canadian French for customers in Quebec and for bilingual packing slips.
This job is translation only. Do not rewrite the brand voice in English. Do not design labels. Do not touch the website.
Language pair
English (source) → French (Canada)
Please use Canadian French, not France French. Example: courriel not e-mail where it is natural; savon en pain / savon saponifié à froid as fits; metric units stay metric.
What to translate (we will paste the English into a Google Doc after hire)
Home short intro — ~80 words
8 product listings, each ~70–90 words
Gilded Fold Soap
Gold Flow Soap
Mineral Flow Soap
Vintage Soap
2 more soap bars
1 candle
1 gift set
Shared product notes: ingredients line, cure time (4–6 weeks), “no two bars are alike”
Shipping / returns short policy — ~150 words
Packing-slip one-liners (10 short lines): “handcrafted in Richmond, BC”, “let the bar dry between uses”, etc.
Total: about 1,000 words of source text.
Tone
Calm, precise, a little studio-like
Not spa-luxury advertising
Keep sentences short, as in the English
Do not add claims we did not write (no “cures eczema”, no “organic” unless it is in the source)
Please do not
run the text through raw machine translation and send it as-is
change product names unless a French shopper would not understand them — if you keep the English name, add a short French descriptor
translate into European French spelling where Canadian usage differs
localize prices or legal terms we did not provide
Deliverables
Google Doc: English on the left or above, French below each block
File named by product / page
A 5-line glossary of terms you chose (soap / bar / cold process / cured / small batch)
1 revision round for wording we flag
If the French is right, later jobs would be the workshop page and seasonal product drops. Not part of this job.
Please bid with 3–4 sentences of sample Canadian French for a cold-process soap listing (any invented bar is fine) so we can hear the register.
