In a college environment, students frequently lose personal belongings such as mobile phones, ID cards, wallets, books, laptops, keys, and other valuable items. Traditionally, finding these items depends on manual announcements, notice boards, or contacting different departments. This process can be time-consuming and inconvenient.
To overcome these challenges, the Campus Lost & Found Management System provides an easy-to-use online platform where registered users can report lost and found items by entering details such as item name, description, category, location, date, and an optional image.
The system allows users to browse all reported lost and found items and search for specific belongings using keywords related to the item name, category, description, or location. It also includes an automatic matching feature that checks for possible matches between newly reported found items and previously reported lost items.
The application provides user registration and login functionality with encrypted password storage to ensure secure access. Users can manage and track their reported items through a personalized dashboard. An administrator module is also provided to monitor reported items and view important statistics, including total lost items, found items, available items, and claimed items.
