I am seeking a California-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with structural engineering experience to review, verify, and stamp an existing structural calculation report for a residential deck project located at 12181 Volver Avenue, Felton, CA 95018. The structural calculations have already been prepared using Tekla Tedds in accordance with ANSI/AWC NDS-2018 and the Allowable Stress Design (ASD) method. The report is intended to support building permit approval.
The existing four-page calculation report includes structural wood beam analysis for a Douglas Fir-Larch No. 2 nominal 2×8 member, with a 6-foot span and 3-foot overhang. It addresses dead and live loads, bending moments, shear forces, support reactions, bearing stresses, member capacity, and deflection. The calculations currently indicate passing results for bending, shear, bearing, and deflection. The selected engineer will independently review the structural assumptions, loading conditions, material properties, design methodology, and calculations to verify compliance with applicable California Building Code requirements and local building department standards.
The primary scope is professional engineering review and certification rather than preparing a new calculation report from scratch. If minor corrections are necessary, the engineer should identify them and coordinate the required revisions before issuing the final signed and stamped PDF. Applicants must hold an active California PE license with appropriate authority to perform this work and be able to provide a verifiable license number. Please include your proposed fixed fee, estimated turnaround time, and availability to begin. The final deliverable must be a professionally reviewed, signed, and sealed structural calculation report suitable for submission to the local building department, subject to its acceptance requirements.
