Project title:
Calculus II Tutor Needed for University Student – Final Exam Prep (Stewart Textbook)

Description:

I’m looking for an experienced, patient Calculus II tutor for my sister, who is currently taking a university-level Calculus II course. Her final exam is on December 14, so I’d like to start as soon as possible and run regular sessions until then.

The course follows Stewart’s Calculus and covers:

Integration techniques: integration by parts, trigonometric integrals, trig substitution, partial fractions, strategy for integration, approximate integration and error bounds
Improper integrals and applications: arc length, surface area of revolution, probability
Sequences and series: geometric, harmonic and telescoping series, the divergence, integral, comparison, alternating, ratio and root tests, absolute convergence, rearrangements, and strategy for testing series
Power series: representing functions as power series, Taylor and Maclaurin series, applications of Taylor polynomials
First-order differential equations: modeling, direction fields, Euler’s method, separable equations, population growth, linear equations, predator-prey systems
Second-order differential equations: homogeneous and non-homogeneous linear DEs with constant coefficients, initial and boundary value problems, spring systems, series solutions
Intro to complex numbers

What I’m looking for:

Strong command of Calculus II and differential equations (a math or engineering degree is preferred)
Experience tutoring university students, ideally with exam prep
The ability to explain concepts clearly, not just solve problems, so she understands why each method works
Someone who can identify her weak areas early and build a focused plan for the final
Practice problems and worked examples in the style of university exams
Live online sessions over Zoom or Google Meet with a digital whiteboard or tablet
Flexible scheduling (we’re in the IST time zone)

Sessions:

2–3 sessions per week, 1–1.5 hours each, until December 14
More intensive sessions in the final week before the exam

To apply, please include:

Your math background and qualifications
Your experience tutoring Calculus II or differential equations
Your hourly rate
Your availability over the next 5 weeks
A short explanation of how you’d approach a student who struggles with series convergence tests (this helps me see your teaching style)

Tutors who can start this week will be preferred. A short trial session first would be great.
