The Business Analyst, Process Improvement is responsible for improving and simplifying New Product Setup (NPS) workstreams within Appian. This role focuses on workflow simplification, field usage and governance, and standardization across regions and ERPs. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and process owners to improve current-state processes within Appian. The role will initially focus on NPS and may expand to support additional processes over time.
Responsibilities:
Support future-state process design for NPS workstreams adopted by Appian
Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and eliminate inefficient current-state process steps
Drive field rationalization and improve field usage and governance across workstreams
Develop recommendations to standardize processes across regions and ERPs where appropriate
Partner with business stakeholders to understand current-state pain points and improvement opportunities
Help document ways of working that support more consistent and scalable process execution
Collaborate with product owners to ensure process improvements are reflected in backlog and delivery planning
Support cross-functional working sessions to align on process changes and simplification opportunities
Help reduce downstream rework by improving process clarity and consistency before development begins
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
5+ years’ experience in business process improvement, process design, operational transformation, or a similar role
5+ years’ experience simplifying workflows and improving business processes in complex environments
Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups to identify pain points and translate them into practical process improvements
Experience working in agile environments and supporting requirements readiness for iterative delivery
Experience supporting cross-functional business process initiatives preferred
Experience with regional or multi-ERP process standardization preferred
Experience with master data, product setup, or enterprise workflow processes
Familiarity with structured process improvement methodologies or continuous improvement practices
Skills:
Workflow simplification and process improvement
Field rationalization and field governance support
Cross-functional facilitation and stakeholder coordination
Process documentation and ways-of-working development
Analytical problem solving
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements
