My website is a completely custom build—pure HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript—so there’s no CMS or plugin ecosystem to lean on. I now need a lightweight backend that can generate large batches of QR codes, assign a unique ID to each one, store the mapping, and expose the results so the front-end can fetch or embed them on demand.
Here’s the flow I have in mind:
1. I upload or call an endpoint with the quantity (or a CSV of labels).
2. The backend creates the unique IDs, generates the corresponding QR images, and saves both the ID and destination URL in a small database or file store.
3. It returns a simple JSON (or downloadable ZIP) the front-end can consume to display, print, or download every QR.
Deliverables
• A runnable backend service (language/framework is your call; pick what you’re fastest with)
• Endpoint or script for bulk generation, plus a retrieval endpoint for single look-ups
• Storage layer configured (SQLite, Mongo, or flat-file—justify your choice)
• Automatic build of PNG or SVG QRs with configurable sizing
• Basic README so I can deploy and regenerate codes without you
Acceptance criteria
• 1,000 QRs generated in under two minutes on a mid-range VPS
• Each QR decodes to the correct, unique URL pattern I provide
• Front-end fetch succeeds with CORS enabled and no console errors
If you’ve handled QR libraries (like qrcode, goqr, or similar) and can wire up a lean REST API quickly, this should be straightforward. Let me know your proposed stack and any prerequisites you’ll need from my side (domain, server credentials, etc.) so we can get rolling right away.
