I have a 14' x 16' elevated deck and want to crown it with a free-standing, traditionally styled wood gazebo. The structure must sit on its own posts rather than tying into the house, and all loads need to be carried through properly sized footings that meet local code. I prefer classic timber aesthetics—clean posts, decorative braces, simple railings—finished with a durable metal roof so I never have to worry about re-shingling.

Access to the deck is straightforward and power is available on site. I can source lumber locally if you give me a cut list, or you can supply everything—let me know which route makes the most sense. Either way, accuracy in the drawings is critical so permitting goes smoothly.

Deliverables I expect:
• Scaled construction drawings (PDF + CAD/SketchUp) showing framing, post layout, and roof details
• Complete material list with dimensions, hardware, and metal roofing specs
• On-site build to finished stage, including stain/seal of exposed wood and installation of the metal panels

The gazebo has to look like it has always belonged there, withstand four-season weather, and comply with residential code. If you have recent examples of similar timber builds, references are welcome.

Here's a mock up picture of the gazebo.
