I’m extending our existing Golf Coach Now mobile app and need an engineer who can own the front-end logic for a brand-new “TapTalk” feature. The app is already live in React Native, so your work should compile cleanly for both iOS and Android from the same codebase.
Here’s the user flow I’m after: a golfer taps the TapTalk button on the UI and is dropped straight into a real-time voice session with their coach. A lightweight text chat panel should open alongside that call so participants can type quick notes or share links while they talk. No scheduling steps, invite links, or video feeds—just an immediate voice channel with optional text.
I’ll supply the backend endpoints and preferred real-time service (most likely Twilio Voice & Chat SDKs, though I’m open to your suggestion if another library will get us lower latency). Your focus is wiring up the front-end logic, handling permission prompts, connection state, reconnection, and the small chat drawer UI that can slide in and out during the call.
Deliverables I need to see for sign-off:
• Fully integrated TapTalk component/flow working on both iOS and Android simulators and at least two physical devices per platform
• Clean, well-commented React Native/TypeScript code pushed to our Git repo with clear setup notes
• A short Loom or screen recording walking through the call initiation, voice quality, chat send/receive, and graceful hang-up states
• Basic unit tests covering connection lifecycle events
