I am looking for an experienced FlutterFlow + Supabase developer to build the MVP for a new community gardening and local food platform.
Core Concept
The platform will connect:
People → Communities → Gardens → Crops → Harvests → Marketplace → Requests → Local Demand → Better Growing Decisions
Preferred technology:
• FlutterFlow — mobile app/frontend
• Supabase — backend/database/authentication
• PostgreSQL database
• Supabase Row Level Security (RLS)
• Stripe or suitable payment integration
• Push notifications
• AI/API integration for garden design
• Google Maps/location functionality where appropriate
• iOS and Android deployment
The application must be structured so that the underlying database and architecture can scale.
Other features
- user login
- community selection (geographically based)
- community hub and open forum (discussion and event creation)
- my garden. AI tool for garden design ideas. Garden building and maintenance service
- crop tracking once veggies are growing
- local marketplace. "I want" / produce requests. Feature to outline excess produce. Matching the supply (excess) with the demand
- sale of vegetable boxes from excess produce
- Community Needs / Local Food Intelligence
- “What Should I Grow?”The app should eventually provide personalised growing recommendations
- Notifications
- Admin Dashboard
Suggested Database Architecture
Please design the database properly rather than building a collection of disconnected screens.
Initial tables may include:
• USERS
• COMMUNITIES
• USER_COMMUNITIES
• GARDENS
• GARDEN_CROPS
• CROPS
• HARVESTS
• GARDEN_DESIGNS
• AI_DESIGN_REQUESTS
• LISTINGS
• PRODUCE_REQUESTS
• MATCHES
• ORDERS
• ORDER_ITEMS
• VEGGIE_BOXES
• BOX_ITEMS
• FORUM_CATEGORIES
• FORUM_POSTS
• FORUM_COMMENTS
• FORUM_REACTIONS
• FORUM_REPORTS
• COMMUNITY_EVENTS
• EVENT_ATTENDEES
• NOTIFICATIONS
The final schema should be proposed by the developer based on best practice.
The architecture needs to support future expansion without requiring the application to be rebuilt.
Ownership
All major accounts must be owned by me, including:
• FlutterFlow
• Supabase
• Apple Developer
• Google Play Developer
• Domain
• Stripe
• AI/API accounts
The developer will be given appropriate access.
All source code, database structure, workflows, designs and project assets must belong to the client.
Development Milestones
I would prefer development to occur in milestones rather than paying for the entire application upfront.
Milestone 1 — Architecture
• Supabase database
• Authentication
• Community architecture
• Basic FlutterFlow structure
• RLS/security
• Core navigation
Milestone 2 — Gardens
• User gardens
• Crops
• Crop tracking
• Garden photos
• AI garden design prototype
Milestone 3 — Community
• Community Hub
• Open forum
• Posts/comments
• Basic moderation/reporting
• Community events
• Swap meet functionality
Milestone 4 — Marketplace
• Listings
• Search/browse
• Sell/swap/give away
• Produce requests
Milestone 5 — Matching
• Produce matching
• Notifications
• Community connections
Milestone 6 — Veggie Boxes
• Boxes
• Orders
• Payments
Milestone 7 — Community Intelligence
• Community demand
• Supply/demand analysis
• “What should I grow?”
• AI/personalised recommendations
Developer Requirements
I am looking for someone with demonstrated experience in:
• FlutterFlow
• Supabase
• PostgreSQL
• Relational database design
• Mobile application development
• Authentication
• RLS/security
• Marketplace applications
• API integrations
• AI/API integrations
• Social/community features
• Forums or discussion platforms
• Event functionality
• iOS and Android deployment
Experience with image-based AI applications or AI garden/landscape design would be highly desirable.
I am not looking for someone who simply builds screens.
I need someone who understands the underlying architecture and can help build this properly from the beginning.
Please Include in Your Application
1. Examples of FlutterFlow applications you have built.
2. Examples using Supabase/PostgreSQL.
3. Examples of marketplace applications.
4. Examples of AI/API integrations.
5. Examples of forums, social/community or event functionality you have built.
6. Explain how you would implement the AI garden design feature, including how you would take a user’s garden photo and generate useful design concepts.
7. Explain how you would structure the Community → User → Garden → Crop → Harvest → Marketplace → Forum relationship.
8. Explain how you would protect user data using Supabase RLS.
9. Tell me whether you recommend FlutterFlow + Supabase for this project and why.
10. Provide your estimated cost and timeframe for each milestone.
11. Tell me what you would build in Milestone 1 before moving into the rest of the application.
Developer Selection
I will be assessing developers based on:
• FlutterFlow experience — 15%
• Supabase/PostgreSQL experience — 25%
• Database architecture — 20%
• Marketplace experience — 10%
• Security/RLS — 10%
• Mobile deployment — 5%
• Communication and understanding of the concept — 10%
• Price — 5%
I am particularly interested in finding a developer who can help build a solid foundation that can scale, rather than simply producing the cheapest possible prototype.
