Project Title: Build Android Location Utility App (Mock Location & Coordinate Manager)
Project Description
We are looking for a skilled Android developer to build a utility mobile application focused on GPS location management and simulation (similar to LocationLab).
The app should provide a seamless interface for users to search locations, input precise coordinates, save favorites, and control mock location sessions.
Key Features Required:
* Location Search & Coordinate Input:
* Search for places using geocoding/map search.
* Manual entry support for exact latitude and longitude coordinates.
* Coordinate validation and timezone info display.
* Mock Location Simulation:
* Enable and manage mock location provider settings with step-by-step guided onboarding for Android Developer Options.
* Ability to activate, switch, or stop simulated GPS location feeds cleanly.
* Saved Locations & History:
* Local on-device storage (Room database or secure local storage) for frequently used locations and history.
* Import/export options for saved favorites and routes (e.g., GPX support preferred).
* Persistent Session Control:
* Ongoing system notification with quick actions to pause, resume, or stop the active mock location session without reopening the app.
* Clean & Modern UI/UX:
* Minimalist, distraction-free dashboard layout.
* Dark/Light mode support and robust error handling for permission states.
Tech Stack Preferences
* Framework: Native Android (Kotlin) or Cross-Platform (Flutter / React Native) with proper platform channel implementation for system-level location mocking.
Deliverables
* Complete, well-documented source code repository (GitHub/GitLab).
* Working test builds (APK/AAB).
* Assistance with Google Play Console configuration and deployment package preparation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in developing Android utility, navigation, or developer-focused apps.
* Strong understanding of Android Location Services, background services, and Mock Location permissions (ACCESS_MOCK_LOCATION / developer settings).
* Clean coding standards and clear communication.
Please share examples of similar native or cross-platform utility/location apps you have built when submitting your proposal.
