Build a WordPress Driving School Booking Platform

WordPress Developer Required — Driving School Booking Platform

I am developing Driving Lessons Direct (DLD), a WordPress-based booking platform for Schools of Motoring in Ireland.

The business model is straightforward: DLD provides a complete online booking system to Schools of Motoring for a recurring monthly fee.

I currently use Easy Appointments on a live driving-school website and have a working booking system. I do not want to reinvent the booking engine if Easy Appointments can already provide the required functionality.

What I need

I need an experienced WordPress developer to build the DLD front-end/business layer around Easy Appointments, extending it where necessary.

The system needs to support Schools of Motoring with:

One or multiple instructors
Instructors qualified for one or multiple Irish licence categories
Different instructor availability
Driving lessons as the bookable service
Recurring and one-off availability
Holidays/blackout dates
Configurable lesson duration and booking limits
Customer booking and confirmation
Instructor-specific booking pages/profiles
Customer journey

The customer experience must follow a KISS principle:

Find a School of Motoring → Choose an instructor → Choose licence category → View availability → Book lesson → Confirmation

The learner should not need to understand Easy Appointments or create an unnecessary account.

The underlying booking complexity should remain behind the scenes.

Easy Appointments

The current system uses:

Locations
Services
Employees/instructors
Connections
Customers
Bookings

I want the developer to use the existing Easy Appointments functionality wherever possible, rather than building duplicate functionality.

The developer must be comfortable working with WordPress hooks/APIs and extending an existing plugin without modifying its core files.

Calendar integration

Calendar integration is required, with particular emphasis on preventing double bookings.

The target calendars are:

Google Calendar
Microsoft/Outlook Calendar
Apple Calendar

The exact capabilities and limitations of each integration should be clearly identified and demonstrated rather than assumed.

Cancellations

Customer cancellations are handled directly with the instructor in person by SMS.

A complicated automated cancellation system is therefore not required at launch.

I am looking for someone who can first review the existing Easy Appointments installation and recommend what should be configured, extended or custom-built.

I do not want someone to unnecessarily build a new booking engine when the existing system can already do the job.

Please explain your experience with WordPress plugin development and, ideally, Easy Appointments or similar booking systems.

I am particularly interested in developers who will analyse the existing system first and recommend the simplest reliable solution, rather than immediately proposing a completely new booking platform.

Please do not propose building the entire booking/calendar engine from scratch unless you can demonstrate why Easy Appointments cannot fulfil the requirement.
