Build a Website

I need a full-stack web application that lets visitors register, log in, and immediately start using a set of online tools available only to authenticated users. The tech stack must be Node.js with Express for the back-end API and React (with either Context or Redux for state) on the front end, all written in modern JavaScript.

Security is essential, so please wire up email/password authentication (JWT or Passport), hashed credentials, and protected routes. Once signed in, users should land on a clean dashboard that fetches personalised data from the API and renders it responsively. I will plug specific tool modules into that dashboard later, so keep the code modular and well commented.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Setting up the project structure, webpack/Vite or create-react-app, and an Express server
• Building the auth flow (register, verify, log in/out, password reset)
• Creating a sample protected route and React page that demonstrates how future tools will load user-specific content
• Connecting to a lightweight database (MongoDB or PostgreSQL—whichever you prefer) with basic user schema
• Deploying a working demo to a cloud host (Heroku, Render, or Vercel) and handing over the complete repository

Acceptance criteria: the deployed site must allow account creation, block unauthenticated access to protected pages, and return user data from the database through the API. Source code needs to run locally with a single command for server and client.
