I have a single 105 GB Oracle Data Pump backup (.dmp). Using only the regular database account that came with the file (no system or admin user) I want to expose about twenty-five specific tables through a simple web interface and run it on my Windows server.
The solution has to be written in ASP.NET Core MVC with ODP.NET or a comparable Oracle driver so I can extend it later. For now the interface only needs to display the data: clean grid, quick pagination, optional column sorting—no editing required at this stage. Because I am uncertain of the dump’s original Oracle version, part of the work will be getting the file imported or otherwise made readable under a current Oracle installation without requiring SYS privileges.
I will provide:
• the .dmp file,
• the user name and password that own the tables,
• remote access to the target server for deployment.
You will:
• restore or attach the dump using the given credentials,
• create the ASP.NET Core MVC project that reads the chosen tables,
• deploy the site on IIS (or Kestrel behind IIS) and document every step so I can reproduce the setup.
Acceptance criteria
– Each of the designated tables opens in the browser in under five seconds with default paging (≈50 rows).
– The application logs in only with the credentials I supply—no hard-coded elevated accounts.
– All source code and scripts are delivered ready for Visual Studio 2022.
Keywords for context: Oracle Data Pump, impdp, ODAC, ODP.NET, C#, Windows Server, IIS, pagination, MVC.
